Jonathan Thornton is Professor Emeritus after a thirty-nine year career teaching the conservation of three-dimensional objects at SUNY Buffalo State College. He is currently an independent artist and researcher focusing on sculpture and the understanding of historic and ancient technologies through recreation and experimentation (a field known as Experimental Archaeology.)
